Telnet

Network gear without SSH, and the lines of a console server (Opengear, Lantronix, Cisco and the like), open over telnet.

1
+ → Telnet: host and port — 23, or the line's port on a console server (2001 and up on most). Pasting telnet host port or a telnet://host:port address into the top field fills the form.

The login is the device's own prompt: nothing is stored for it.

Telnet is plain text: everything typed crosses the network unencrypted, passwords included. The form says so, and the tab's status bar carries an unencrypted mark next to the address. Send break sends a telnet break, which a console server passes on to its serial line. The window size follows the tab, as in an SSH session. The assistant never runs commands in a telnet session.
