Keys and passwords
SSH keys, passwords and API keys live only in the macOS Keychain — never in files, logs or the vault. With sync on, they also travel to the account's other computers inside the encrypted copy (Settings → Sync).
Authentication per host
Auto tries the ssh-agent and the stored keys.
Key uses a key from Settings → Keys & Vault.
Password is asked on connect; Remember keeps it in the Keychain.
Agent uses only the ssh-agent.
Managing keys
Settings → Keys & Vault generates an ed25519 key or imports an existing one, and copies the public key to paste into a server's ~/.ssh/authorized_keys.
